Animal Health Technologists

Our veterinary technologists are all graduates of accredited Veterinary Technical Colleges and are members in good standing of the the Alberta Association of Animal Health Technologists. In addition, several of our staff are pursuing or have achieved specialty status in disciplines such as anesthesia and critical care.

Technological staff members have responsibilities in designated areas including:

  • anesthesia / operating room
  • postoperative care
  • 24hr intensive care
  • emergency services
  • internal medicine
  • ophthalmology, and oncology

Animal Health Technologist Assistants

Our Animal Health Technologist Assistants, or TAs, play a vital role in the well being of our hospitalized patients. TAs are responsible for housekeeping, routine nutrition, and exercise for our patients, as well as more specialized responsibilities such as cleaning and sterilization of operating equipment. Above all, the TAs assist by giving that ‘extra’ measure of hands-on patient comfort by providing time for a gentle touch, a kind whisper, or a bit of play time.
