Direct access emergency care is provided by Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre, a member of the Brightheart Veterinary Network. We provide emergency services with trained ER veterinarians and animal health technologists 24 hours daily, 365 days per year.

WVSEC works closely with your family’s veterinarian. We contact the primary care practice as soon as possible during their regular business hours to discuss your pet’s presentation to our emergency centre, the nature of your pet’s illness, and the requirement for ongoing care. Options for ongoing care include direct release from our hospital, transfer back to your family veterinarian, or continuing hospitalization by WVSEC, for specialty care. The best option for your pet will be decided based on consultations between you, our emergency veterinarians, and your regular veterinarian.
